• WCSO announces expansion of Simultaneous 911 System (wjhg.com) — Emergency calls in DeFuniak Springs will now reach local police simultaneously with other Walton County responders, a change aimed at shaving seconds off response times. The sheriff's office has expanded its Simultaneous 911 Ringing System to include DeFuniak Springs Police and South Walton Fire, modernizing how calls are routed based on where they originate.
