BROWARD PARTNERSHIP WILL HOST ITS ANNUAL CHEFS HELPING THE HOMELESS EVENT PRESENTED BY BMW OF PEMBROKE PINES ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2026. 
·Since 2007, this signature event has captivated diners while supporting Broward Partnership’s mission to reduce homelessness in Broward County.
·The evening begins with a lively cocktail reception where guests randomly draw numbers to determine their dining destination—known only to their chauffeurs.
·Guests are whisked away in luxurious limousines to one of Broward County’s premier restaurants, where they enjoy a multi-course, chef-curated menu with exquisite wine pairings, gratuities included, and a personal visit from the Executive Chef.
·The host committee members for the event are Elliot Borkson, Jerry Gutierrez, Emily Stark, Diane D’Angelo, Chef Nicole Fey, Whitney Dutton, Kip Hunter and Nicole Lewis.

Historic Stranahan House Museum

The annual event will take place on Friday, Sept 25, from 5 to 8 p.m., with the picturesque New River creating the perfect backdrop.The community is invited to celebrate the founding families of Fort Lauderdale with festive fall fun. Guests will enjoy food trucks, beer and wine vendors, games, live music, and more for all ages. The Water Taxi will be providing complimentary rides. A special ceremony to honor the founding families will take place at 6:15 p.m.



All proceeds will support the year-round historic preservation and education programs at the Historic Stranahan House Museum, one of the top cultural attractions in Fort Lauderdale. The Historic Stranahan House Museum is the oldest house in Fort Lauderdale and the epicenter of Broward County’s long and fascinating history. Built in 1901, Stranahan House is recognized as the birthplace of Fort Lauderdale and was home to the area’s first businessman, Frank Stranahan, and the first schoolteacher, Ivy Cromartie Stranahan. Stranahan House opened as a museum in 1984.

(CBCI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering youth development, family strengthening, and community empowerment services to underserved populations, invites couples to reconnect, rekindle, and grow during its FREE Stronger Together Couples Conference on Saturday, September 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at New Mount Olive Baptist Church (400 NW 9th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale). Married, dating or co-parenting couples will get the tools they need to help strengthen relationships, improve communication, rebuild trust, and support healthier families from award-winning speakers and counselors.
The thought-provoking event with host Mikelange Olbel, president/CEO of Community-Based Connections, Inc, will include interactive panel discussions and a complimentary breakfast. 
Rev. Dr. Marcus D. Davidson, senior pastor of New Mount Olive Baptist Church and an adjunct professor and preaching fellow for the Voice for Change Preaching Initiative at Palm Beach Atlantic University &amp; Lady Yvokia Davidson, director of outreach and missions at New Mount Olive Baptist Church will lead the “Reconnect &amp; Rekindle” interactive session designed to help participants reconnect, strengthen communication, renew affection, and identify a meaningful next step for their relationship or family.
Inspirational speakers Apostle Ron Harper &amp; Lady Stephanie Harper, leaders and founders of I Am Kingdom Ministries, Michael Drummond, founder &amp; CEO, Technicom Sales and Services, Inc. and Technicom Media Group, Inc., U.S. Army Veteran &amp; Arlene Connelly Drummond,founder &amp; CEO, ISEE Group, LLC, executive strategist &amp; certified coach, and Dr. Linda Parker, president and CEO of Women in Distress &amp; Antoine Parkerwill lead the “Living United” panel. Attendees will learn from them sharing practical insights on remaining unified through conflict, cultural pressures, social media, parenting demands, and other challenges that can affect family stability. The session will be moderated by Latoya Gonzalez, senior underwriter at Amerant Bank.
Dr. Aaron J. McLeod, Esq., founder McLeod Legal Advisors, Difference Makers Asset Protection, LLC, The Legacy Coaching Institute, NPF, and Samaritans For The Common Good, NFP plus pastor of Lula B. Sherman United Methodist Church in Evanston, Illinois, Dr. Kimm R. Campbell, LCSW, and Venita Fields, partner with Pelham S2K Managers, LLC will address “The Resilient Couple Blueprint” – a discussion on navigating adversity and change while balancing marriage, careers, and entrepreneurship; supporting one another's goals; managing competing responsibilities; celebrating shared success; and protecting their connection at home. The session will be moderated by Olbel. 
All families in Broward and Palm Beach counties are eligible, including single parents (fathers and mothers), co-parenting partners, married or unmarried couples, expectant parents, and adults seeking to strengthen relationships, communication, or family dynamics. There are no income restrictions, and participants may self-refer or be referred by partner agencies.

United Way Broward’s Women United will host GLOW TOGETHER: WOMEN UNITED PAMPER PARTY on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at SWAY Nightclub in Fort Lauderdale at 4:30 pm.
<ul><li>The Pamper Party will be an elevated self-care and wellness soirée designed to nourish the whole woman: mind, body, and community.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Glow Together is more than an event, it’s an intentional space rooted in care, connection, and community. Women United members commit to giving $1,000 annually to invest in the well-being of our community. Glow Together is an extension of that commitment, it’s an opportunity to pour back into the very women who give so much of themselves every day.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Guests will enjoy curated wellness experiences, inspiring expert voices, indulgent touches including food vendor tasting stations, signature cocktails, and wine, and the joy of connecting with women who believe in collective care and impact.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Women are constantly balancing multiple roles: leaders, caregivers, professionals, and friends. This experience is designed to create space for them to be supported, celebrated, and restored. Because when we intentionally care for women, we strengthen families, uplift communities, and create lasting impact.</li></ul>

(CBCI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering youth development, family strengthening, and community empowerment services to underserved populations, will recognize outstanding individuals and companies for their contributions to help improve the quality of life for local children and families during its fifth annual Green Blazer Awards Gala &amp; Celebration to be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort (321 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd.). 
This year’s honorees are Kirk Brown, CEO of Handy; Carol Hylton, president and CEO of CareerSource Broward; Brian C. Johnson, founder of Community-Based Connections, Inc. and president and CEO of the Minority Builders Coalition; Newton Sanon, president and CEO of OIC of South Florida; FPL (Florida Power &amp; Light) and The GEO Group Foundation. 
The evening of celebration, hosted by Local 10 Anchor/Reporter Aaron Maybin, will include a cocktail reception, a seated three-course dinner with an open bar, live musical entertainment, dancing and the impactful awards ceremony, which includes the presentation of the branded green blazers. 
Proceeds from the event will benefit CBCI’s Awesome Dads Awesome Men (A.D.A.M.) fatherhood mentoring program, The Beacon of HOPE-Intact Family Navigation Program, Family Strengthening Program, and S.M.A.R.T. monitoring safety plans, as well as its vital initiatives such as Early Achievers at Markham Elementary, Young Believers, Club Elevate, Haven and Healing Space.
