New Fort Myers city clerk first Hispanic woman to hold that office (wgcu.org) — Fort Myers has a new city clerk, Cuban American Lilliana Baker, who's also the first Hispanic woman to hold the role. After eight years with the city, she's emphasizing bilingual service and wants to bring local middle schoolers into City Hall to demystify elections and show how their voices shape decisions.
   

2. Legacy Harbour Marina Reopens After Major Revitalization (boatingindustry.com) — Legacy Harbour Marina on West First Street in downtown Fort Myers has reopened after a $15 million post–Hurricane Ian overhaul, and is now taking slip reservations. Boaters will find 131 upgraded slips, modern utilities, and easy access to the River District, with a new waterfront restaurant, Nellie's Boatyard, expected to open in the former Joe's Crab Shack space next year.
   

3. Banyan Cafe Reopens Thursday With New Fall Menu (winknews.com) — Banyan Cafe at the Edison and Ford Winter Estates on McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers reopens this Thursday with a refreshed fall menu and seasonal drinks. You can stop by the vintage-camper coffee spot without buying an estates ticket, enjoy the banyan-shaded grounds, and sample new treats while visiting one of Fort Myers' most iconic historic properties.
   

4. Motown Under the Stars (floridaweekly.com) — A free Motown-themed First Friday concert is coming to Gulf Coast Town Center on Friday, Oct. 2, from 7–9 p.m., giving Fort Myers-area residents an easy night out close to home. The Girls of Motown will perform classic hits in The Courtyard, and guests are encouraged to bring chairs and enjoy the outdoor show with family and friends.
   

5. Fort Myers Starbucks among 250 locations cut nationwide (news-press.com) — Starbucks has permanently closed its drive-thru-only location at 4790 Colonial Boulevard in Fort Myers, one of about 250 stores cut nationwide and the only one to shut in Lee or Collier counties. The company says underperforming shops were targeted, while nearly 40 Starbucks remain open in Lee County for residents who need an alternative nearby.
