Shark Bites Foot Of Man Fishing Off Dock In Florida Keys: Sheriff
There have been 3 shark bites reported in the FL Keys in May, including a man bitten while fishing off a dock, Monroe County Sheriff said.
FLORIDA KEYS — A 35-year-old man fishing off a dock in the Florida Keys was bitten in the foot by a shark Friday night, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post.
He was on a dock on Flagship Drive on Summerland Key when the shark bit him around 8 p.m.
The shark was reportedly out of the water and on the dock when it bit the angler, MCSO said.

He was flown to Jackson South Medical Center in Miami for treatment. His immediate condition was not known Saturday.

This is the third shark attack in the Florida Keys this month. On Thursday, a 20-year-old spearfisherman was bitten in the leg by a bull shark in waters off Marathon.
A 22-year-old spearfisherman was airlifted to Miami May 5 after being bitten in the ankle or foot by a shark off Islamorada.
Earlier this spring, at the end of March, a kite surfer was bitten in the leg off Key West.
