1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured In 3-Vehicle U.S. 19 Crash: FL Troopers
A Hudson man died after failing to stop for a red light on U.S. 19 and hitting an SUV in front of him, FL Highway Patrol said.
HUDSON, FL — One driver was killed and another seriously injured in a Monday afternoon crash on U.S. 19, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
A 69-year-old Hudson man was driving a Chrysler PT Cruiser north on the highway, south of Hudson Avenue, around 3:20 p.m.
He failed to stop for a red traffic signal at an intersection of the two roads and hit a Kia Telluride, driven by a 69-year-old Weeki Wachee man, that was stopped just ahead of his car for the red light, FHP said.

This crash propelled the SUV forward and it hit a GMC Sierra, driven by a 44-year-old Hernando Beach man, which was stopped in front of it for the red light.
The Hudson man died at the scene, while the SUV’s driver was brought to an area hospital with serious injuries, FHP said.

The pick-up truck’s driver suffered minor injuries and wasn’t brought anywhere for treatment.
