Pasco County Coronavirus Update: What You Need To Know

As of Wednesday morning, the Florida Department of Health reported 43 positive cases in Pasco County.

PASCO COUNTY, FL —A second Pasco County resident has died after testing positive for coronavirus, bring the total number of deaths in the county to two.

The Department of Health Pasco County reported that a 67-year-old Pasco County resident died on Friday.

The first Pasco County death was a 71-year-old resident diagnosed who died Tuesday, March 24.

Over the weekend, Florida Surgeon General Scott Rivkees sent out a statewide alert telling all residents age 65 and older to remain in their homes. The senior population is more likely to have serious symptoms as a result of coronavirus.

As of Wednesday morning, the Florida Department of Health reported 43 positive cases in Pasco County. One was not a resident of Pasco County.

Eighteen were men and 25 were women. They ranged in age from 17 to 75. Seven have been hospitalized.

People were positive cases of coronavirus are from these towns:

  • 10 from Lake O' Lakes
  • 8 from Dade City
  • 6 from Wesley Chapel
  • 3 from New Port Richey
  • 2 town of origin missing
  • 2 from Trinity
  • 2 from Holiday
  • 1 from Zephyrhills
  • 1 from Port Richey
  • 1 from Hudson
  • 1 from Lutz

As of Monday, 6,695 people tested positive in Florida and there have been 87 deaths.

Florida has administered 67,734. Of those, 59,529 were negative.
