• Portion of Luverne Avenue reopens as one-way with new angled parking (mypanhandle.com) — Drivers in downtown Panama City now have a newly rebuilt, one-way northbound section of Luverne Avenue south of 4th Street, with fresh angled parking on both sides. City officials say the project adds 21 new angled spaces plus planned handicap and golf cart spots, with more parking changes coming between 4th and 5th streets.
   

• Walton set to begin second season with Jay Lindsey at the helm (wjhg.com) — From Panama City, local TV is spotlighting Walton High's football team as it kicks off the 2026 season with a senior-heavy roster and hopes for a breakout year. After a 4-7 campaign, the Braves are leaning on 20 seniors and strong community support at Yates Memorial. They open at home Friday night against West Florida, aiming to build on a dominant preseason win.
