Full-time residents say large vacation homes are straining neighborhoods, while others stress tourism's economic benefits as the community searches for a balanced solution.
   

3. Florida hemp industry urges Congress to rethink THC drink limits before November deadline (weartv.com) — Pensacola's Perfect Plain Brewery and other Florida hemp businesses are bracing for strict new federal limits on THC in drinks and gummies taking effect November 12. Local staff say THC beverages are a major part of sales, and industry leaders are urging Congress to ease the rules before they devastate this growing market.
   

4. Florida teen's kidneys donated to uncle after crash that killed her, hospitalized her girlfriend (fox8.com) — A devastating July 31 crash involving two Pensacola teens left 17-year-old Faith Webb dead and her girlfriend, 17-year-old Caileigh Tonsetic, critically injured and now recovering in Orlando. Webb's donated organs, including kidneys given to her uncle, have saved several lives, while Caileigh's family prepares to bring her back home to Pensacola in September.
   

5. Navy To Issue Custom Hearing Protection For Naval Aviators And Aircrew (aero-news.net) — Naval aircrew based in Pensacola are among more than 1,000 CNATRA personnel getting custom-fitted communication earplugs after large-scale digital ear-scanning events this summer. The new process replaces older silicone molds, aiming to improve both hearing protection and in-flight communications for student aviators and instructors across multiple training wings.
