Pensacola man sentenced on methamphetamine and gun charges, DOJ says (wkrg.com) — A Pensacola man has been sentenced to five and a half years in federal prison after deputies stopped him near a reported armed robbery and found a loaded gun, meth, and cash. Because he was already a convicted felon, he was barred from having a firearm, leading to multiple drug and gun charges now resolved in court.
   

2. With Flock cameras removed, law enforcement lean on voluntary home surveillance registries (weartv.com) — Pensacola residents are being urged by Pensacola Police and the Escambia County Sheriff's Office to register their home or business security cameras to help solve neighborhood crimes, especially now that Flock license plate readers are banned from Florida roads. The voluntary registries let investigators quickly ask for footage after incidents, and some cameras can even feed into the county's Real Time Crime Center for faster responses.
   

3. Last Produced USMC Harrier Completes Its Final Mission (aero-news.net) — Pensacola's National Naval Aviation Museum has received the last AV-8B II+ Harrier ever produced for the Marine Corps, now on permanent static display. Trucked in after being demilitarized, the historic jet caps a 55-year Harrier legacy and gives local visitors a new, one-of-a-kind aircraft to explore at Naval Air Station Pensacola.
   

4. Crews put out fire at Chili's on 9 Mile Road in Pensacola, investigation underway (weartv.com) — Fire crews quickly contained a roof fire Thursday morning at the Chili's on 9 Mile Road in Pensacola, safely evacuating everyone and helping two contractors get off the roof without injuries. Investigators from the State Fire Marshal's Office are now working to determine what sparked the blaze, while county officials say the fire was confined to the area between the ceiling and roof.
   

5. NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick and son Keelan to race at Pensacola's Five Flags Speedway (weartv.com) — Racing fans in Pensacola can catch NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick and his son Keelan competing Saturday night at Five Flags Speedway's Busch Light Night of Champions, which includes the season's final Blizzard Series race. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. and features three championship races plus fireworks, with drivers battling for a coveted spot in the Snowball Derby.
