Officer Avoids Wrong-Way Crash, Arrests Driver
A Tampa Police Officer spotted the motorist early Sunday morning.

A 25-year-old Tampa man faces DUI charges after a police officer spotted him driving the wrong way on Interstate 275 early Sunday morning.
The incident unfolded around 3:13 a.m. about a quarter mile north of the Howard Avenue exit. The officer saw the man driving northbound in the southbound lanes, swerved his cruiser to avoid a collision and then stopped the driver, an email to media from the department stated.
A DUI unit was called to the scene. Sobriety tests were performed and the driver ended up blowing .165 and .159.

Josean Carrasquillo was charged with DUI.
Wrong-way driving incidents have plagued the Tampa Bay area over the past few months. Eleven people have been killed in wrong-way crashes since the start of 2014.
