• Vanderbilt reveals first vision for West Palm Beach campus (stetnews.org) — Downtown West Palm Beach is on track for a $300 million Vanderbilt University satellite campus that could bring about 1,000 graduate students by 2029 and transform the Government Hill area with nine new buildings. City and county land gifts, plus major private donations, are fueling the project, while residents raise questions about traffic, housing, and how nearby historic neighborhoods will be protected as construction planning moves ahead.
   

• West Palm Beach mayor rejects 2-year development pause as resident group pushes for independent studies (wpbf.com) — West Palm Beach Mayor Keith James is rejecting a citizen group's push for a two-year halt on major new development approvals, arguing the city should manage growth rather than stop it. Resident group Save West Palm Beach instead wants independent, citywide traffic and infrastructure studies, citing dozens of active projects and the 400 Hibiscus development as examples. A city infrastructure workshop is planned Monday, with a community forum likely in October.
   

• Sam Budnyk honored in Cardinal Newman season-opening win (palmbeachpost.com) — Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach opened its football season by honoring legendary coach Sam Budnyk at the stadium that bears his name, with his wife Maurita performing the ceremonial coin flip. Alumni, players, and family gathered for an emotional tribute in the school cafeteria before the Crusaders, defending state champions, rolled to a 37-6 win over Community School of Naples.
