4 Found Dead At Fort Stewart Home, Including GA Soldier, 2 Kids
The woman, her husband and their two children were all found dead during a welfare check at the Georgia army base.

FORT STEWART — A soldier, her husband and their two children were found dead Wednesday inside their home at the Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield base, army officials said Thursday.
The woman's unit requested a welfare check, and when Fort Stewart Military Police arrived around 2 p.m. to contact her, officers found the family of four unresponsive in the home, army officials said.
The family was declared dead around 5:30 p.m., army officials said. Names of those who died were not released, pending next-of-kin notification. It wasn't immediately known how they died.

"This is an isolated incident; there is no threat to the Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield community. As the investigation is in progress, no additional information can be provided at this time," army officials said in a statement.
Fort Stewart law enforcement is investigating, along with the Army's Criminal Investigation Division.

The death of the family of four comes nearly a year after Fort Stewart Sgt. Nathan Hillman, 30, was killed in December 2022 in a shooting at the base. Specialist Shay A. Wilson, 28, of Cambria Heights, New York, was charged on suspicion of murder in connection with Hillman's death.
