Atlanta Recognized as Top City for LGBTQ+ Bachelor(ette) Parties
A new study identifies the best cities in the U.S. for LGBTQ+bachelor and bachelorette parties, Atlanta ranks #2.
Planning the perfect bachelor or bachelorette party has become notoriously complicated, thanks largely in part to recent films like the Hangover and Bridesmaids. They have a reputation for being an epic final night of singleness, with WeddingWire reporting that bachelor and bachelorette parties cost an average of $708 and $1044 respectively to attend. While not everyone is looking for a film-worthy night out in Vegas, it can still be difficult to put together a weekend to remember – especially when you’re ballin’ on a budget.
With this in mind, the Black Tux published a study to identify the best cities in the U.S. for bachelor and bachelorette parties, specifically for the LGBTQ+ community.
The Black Tux put together a composite ranking for the largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. based on the following factors: the cost of Airbnb’s and drinks, number of bars, number of same-sex households in the state, flight availability, number of gender/sexuality orientation based hate crimes, HRC’s municipal equality index, and city non-discrimination ordinance.

Based on their results, Atlanta is one of the best places in the country for LGBTQ+ friendly trips.
With a perfect ranking in the non-discrimination ordinance and HRC equality index categories, along with very few hate crimes, this is a city that values equality.
Because Atlanta has not only a major airport, but the busiest airport in the world, you should have no problem finding a somewhat affordable plane ticket. And the availability of flights makes it easy for any last minute party additions to book closer to the weekend. Add in the fact that the city has much cheaper than average Airbnb prices, and you’ll find that you can save some serious cash on travel arrangements. Let’s be honest though, how much do you really plan on sleeping?

In terms of nightlife, Atlanta is one of the best locations on our list. With the second highest number of bars per 100k people, second only to Orlando, you should be able to find a spot with room for the entire group. It also doesn’t hurt that with more than reasonable drink prices, you should have enough to buy another round without breaking the bank!
No matter where you decide to go, make sure to slow down and enjoy the people around you. With your best friends, and maybe an awkward future in-law or two, your weekend is guaranteed to be one to remember.
