Thunderstorms Forecast For Metro Atlanta
Flooding, damaging winds and brief tornadoes are possible hazards that could result from the storms.
ATLANTA, GA — Metro Atlanta counties can expect a line of thunderstorms to make its way through the area Tuesday and Wednesday, Samuel Marlow, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service's Peachtree City office, told Patch.
Storms could start arriving as early as 1 p.m. Tuesday, he said, noting they should continue through the night with a second round forecast for Wednesday morning.
"We are fairly confident that some storms may become strong to severe, especially in the late morning tomorrow, as well as tonight," Marlow told Patch. "Some storms may develop damaging winds, and we can’t rule out brief tornadoes."
