• Man wounded in late-night Barnesville shooting (fox5atlanta.com) — A man was shot late Tuesday night on Greenwood Street in Barnesville and taken to an area hospital, though his identity and condition have not been released. Barnesville police say the incident appears isolated and report no ongoing threat to the public. Investigators are still working to determine a motive and identify any suspects.
   

• Kay Smith Pedrotti (barnesville.com) — Barnesville is mourning the passing of longtime community servant and journalist Kay Smith Pedrotti, who died June 19 at age 81. Her memorial service is set for Saturday, July 18, at 2 p.m. at Barnesville First United Methodist Church. The family suggests memorial donations to Lamar Arts, Hope Tree Ministries in Barnesville, or Barnesville First United Methodist Church.
