• Residents urge White County leaders to protect Mount Yonah views from proposed gas station (nowgeorgia.com) — Residents packed a White County Commission meeting in Cleveland to protest a proposed gas station on Helen Highway that would sit directly in front of Mount Yonah. While officials say zoning limits their power to block it, they signaled interest in future rules to better protect scenic views around Cleveland while still allowing growth. 
• 89-home development okayed; ‘Significant' reduction in property tax proposed; S. Hall corn maze giving way to warehouses (wgtjradio.com) — Cleveland homeowners could see a major break on property taxes, with a proposed rate cut from 5 mills to 1.9 mills thanks to revenue from the Floating Local Option Sales Tax. The plan, presented to Cleveland City Council, would shift more of the tax burden onto local sales instead of property. Nearby, officials in Cumming and Buford approved separate housing and warehouse projects.
• Truelove Earns Prestigious Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) Designation (wrwh.com) — Cleveland-based White County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Beth Truelove has earned the elite Certified Chamber Executive designation, one of fewer than 500 worldwide.
