Residents here can directly support affected families through vetted monetary donations and by following state guidance on needed supplies. Authorities stress that donations for first responders are currently at capacity. 
• White County Fire Services Receives $21k Grant (wrwh.com) — White County Fire Services in Cleveland has secured a $21,142 grant to buy new automated external defibrillators for every frontline fire unit, improving cardiac emergency response across the community. Officials say the upgraded AEDs will help firefighters assess heart rhythms faster, deliver lifesaving shocks when needed, and boost survival chances in those critical minutes before patients reach the hospital.
• Former Baldwin assistant police chief arrested for theft, GBI says (fox5atlanta.com) — A former assistant police chief in nearby Baldwin has been arrested on felony theft and oath-of-office charges after money went missing from the department’s evidence room. The GBI’s Regional Investigative Office in Cleveland is handling tips as the investigation continues and the case heads toward possible prosecution.
