$5 Million Lottery Ticket Sold in Gwinnett

A Woodstock, Ga., man won the top prize in the Georgia Lottery's 20th Anniversary Extravaganza instant game.

A $5 million lottery ticket was sold in Gwinnett County, but the winnings are headed to the other side of town.

The Georgia Lottery said John Carrico of Woodstock, in Cherokee County, purchased the winning ticket at the Publix located at 3120 Mathis Airport Parkway in Suwanee.

Carrico won the top prize in the Georgia Lottery’s 20th Anniversary Extravaganza instant game. Players can enter their non-winning tickets into the 20th Anniversary Extravaganza Extra Chance Promotion for a second chance to win $5 million.

Carrico claimed the prize on March 5, the lottery officials said.
