• Police shoot murder suspect (classiccitynews.com) — A multi-agency operation in Buford ended with officers shooting and arresting a man wanted in a New York murder case after he allegedly fired at Gwinnett County police on Binnies Way. Authorities say both the suspect and a woman accused of harboring him are in custody, there's no ongoing threat to the public, and investigators are asking Buford-area residents for any tips.

• DeSoto County Deputies Win Awards at Peach State Motor Rodeo (desotocountynews.com) — Buford recently hosted the 3rd annual Peach State Motor Rodeo, where motorcycle officers from across the Southeast, including DeSoto County deputies, tested their precision riding skills in courses organized by Gwinnett County Police. While the awards went home with out-of-state riders, the event highlighted Buford's role as a regional training hub for traffic enforcement and escort skills that officers use daily.
