The Study, which opened in 2014 at 250 East Main Street, has been placed on the market by owner Joseph Guynup. This latest move comes on the heels of Guynup in January closing and selling The Painted Pig Tavern.

“As owner of the Painted Pig Tavern and The Study, I have truly enjoyed being a part of the downtown Canton community over the past three years,” Guynup said in a message sent to Canton-Sixes Patch and on The Study’s Facebook page. ”...I am genuinely grateful for the patronage of each and every person who has come through the doors of my restaurants. I have met so many caring and unique people and have made some wonderful friends.”

Guynup said his family “needs me now more than ever, and the demands of the restaurant business have become overwhelming to my family.”

The Study was known for serving small plates, sushi and drinks in an atmosphere that resembles the Speakeasies popular during the early 20th century. A few months after the sale of the Painted Pig, The Snug Gastro Pub opened in its place.

Guynup said he’s set an “outstanding price” for the purchase of The Study in an effort make a quick sale. Anyone who is interested about the price can contact Guynup at 845- 392- 3171.
