Sanford Chandler, the former president of Chattahoochee Technical College and most recently retired from the Technical College System of Georgia, on Monday said via email to School Board Attorney Tom Roach that he wishes to withdraw his name from consideration.

“I wish continued success of the board and the district and have only admiration for those who work within this organization,” he said in his message to Roach.

That leaves four names under consideration: Rob Logan, city manager and finance director with the city of Holly Springs; Kelly Poole, PTA member and bookkeeper; and retired teachers James Nicholson and William Wuth.

District 1 encompasses Holly Springs, BridgeMill, parts of south Canton and neighborhoods along Sixes Road.

The applications will be considered at the board’s Sept. 3 meeting. It is possible, however, that the school board may decide not to make an appointment.
