Canton Woman, Stepson Accused In 26 Car Break-Ins
Police say several stolen items, including a firearm, were found in the duo's possession.
CANTON, GA — A mother and her stepson are facing several entering auto charges after multiple reports of car break-ins in a single day in Canton, police said Thursday.
Officers first responded around 7:45 a.m. Sunday to the Cherokee Overlook Subdivision and the Laurels of Greenwood Apartments, near Hickory Flat Highway.
Police said an additional report of a car break-in happened in the Park Village Subdivision, near Fate Conn Road.

The cars that were broken into had been left unlocked or were entered using force, police said. Police viewed video footage from victims and neighbors during the investigation.
Blood was found inside of several vehicles, and a witness told detectives they saw a red vehicle leaving the area after they were awakened at the sound of a car alarm, police said.

Around 2 p.m., police responded to a call of suspicious activity in the 1500 block of Riverstone Parkway. Police said a woman and juvenile were found inside of a red car in a parking lot.
"Through their investigation, the female and male juvenile were detained after officers observed blood inside the vehicle and numerous stolen items in plain view. While detaining the male juvenile, a stolen firearm was located in his possession," police said in a news release.
The woman received medical attention at the scene for a small laceration on her hand, police said.
Brianna Rogers, of Canton, was arrested and is being held at the Cherokee County Detention Center. Police said Rogers was charged on suspicion of 26 counts of entering auto and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The juvenile was charged on suspicion of 26 counts of entering auto and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The Department of Juvenile Justice released the boy to his biological mother, pending court proceedings.
"This investigation is still active, and there are additional charges pending," police said in a news release.
