Defendants Indicted On Armed Robbery, Entering Auto Charges

One of the incidents include the Nov. 21, 2017, robbery of a couple visiting the area known to locals as The Falls off Brick Mill Road.

CANTON, GA — A Cherokee County grand jury has indicted three defendants on armed robbery and entering auto charges related to incidents taking place around Canton and at a popular hang-out spot for locals. Channon Alaynder Hooks and Willie Frank Larry, both of Canton, and Chelsey Jordan Queen of Acworth, were all indicted last week on six counts each of armed robbery, three counts of entering an automobile and one count each of aggravated assault.

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office arrested the trio after receiving reports of at least two incidents targeting visitors in the area of The Falls, which is located off Brick Mill Road between Canton and Holly Springs. The three defendants, the sheriff's office previously said, were also linked to other crimes committed in its jurisdiction and within the city of Canton.

According to warrants, the armed robberies were reported Nov. 13, 2017, on McClain Street and Nov. 26 on Cartersville Street in Canton. Another armed robbery was also reported Nov. 21 by a woman and her boyfriend who were visiting The Falls, which falls in the sheriff's office's jurisdiction. According to an incident report shared with Patch, the Canton resident and her boyfriend arrived at the location around 10:20 p.m. and were ambushed by two men.

One male subject shattered the rear driver's side window with a gun while the other "demanded all their money and cell phones," according to the incident report. Taken from the vehicle were cell phones, wallets with cash, a purse, debit and gift cards and a driver's license.

The three defendants are also accused of entering a gray 2008 Chrysler Town and Country van parked in the 300 block of Scott Mill Road and taking a black briefcase, $1,200 in cash and the victim's passport. The trio are also accused of unlawfully entering a black 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser and lifting a Nikon digital camera and taking $80 in cash, a brown leather wallet and multiple debit and credit cards from a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban. The indictment indicates the entering autos were reported between Nov. 24-27, with the final two taking place on New Point Lane Canton's River Green neighborhood, the warrants show.
