Driver Charged In Head-On Crash That Killed Canton Teen

CANTON, GA -- The Cherokee Sheriff's Office has charged the 21-year-old driver in connection to a crash that killed a teenager from Canton.
Tyler Blake Callahan is charged with vehicular homicide in the first degree, vehicular homicide in the second degree, DUI drugs and weaving over the roadway, the agency said Friday morning.

Deputies were dispatched during the early morning hours of Saturday, April 1 to Ball Ground Highway near Evergreen Road, which is north of Fate Conn Road near Canton.
The vehicle, a Jeep Cherokee driven Callahan, veered off the two-lane highway and collided with a tree, the agency previously reported. Land was pronounced dead at the scene. Callahan, who lives in Ball Ground, was booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with a $31,917 bond.
