What's Open, Closed in Canton on the 4th of July?

You only have a few more days to take care of business before local governments close for a 3-day weekend.

CANTON, GA -- If you're thinking about taking the rest of the week off and waiting until Monday to take care of any business you may have with your local government, then you may want to tweak that plan.

That's because city of Canton as well as Cherokee County government offices will close July 4th in observance of Independence Day. Also, if you're a city of Canton residential garbage customer, your waste will not be collected on Monday.

Trash service will be delayed by one day, the city notes.

Cherokee County's recycling centers will also be closed for business. Both Canton and Cherokee County offices will reopen Tuesday, July 5 to the public during their normal business hours.

Offices for the Cherokee County School District, Cherokee Charter Academy, Reinhardt University and Chattahoochee Technical College will also close in observance of the holiday.

All state and federal entities, including the United States Postal Service, will also have the day off. Sequoyah Regional Library System branches will also be closed on Monday.
