Body Pulled From Lake Allatoona Identified
Witnesses say the 24-year-old man was seen floating in shallow water wearing shorts and a life jacket.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The man whose body was pulled from Lake Allatoona Wednesday afternoon has been identified.
Bartow County crews recovered the body of 24-year-old Tyler Pierce of Atlanta near Allatoona Landing Marine & Resort at 24 Allatoona Road SE in Cartersville.
Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton said officials are still waiting on the autopsy results to determine a cause of death.

The call to Bartow County 911 dispatchers was made around 12:45 p.m. Aug. 10 by an individual who "witnessed the victim floating in nearby shallow water wearing shorts and a life jacket," the Bartow County Sheriff's Office previously said.
No foul play is suspected at this time, according to the sheriff's office.

Wednesday's unfortunate discovery is the fourth instance in less than two months in which crews have recovered a body from the lake.
On July 28, Cass High School student Christian Scrutchins, 17, drowned while swimming with friends at Red Top Mountain State Park. On July 2, Canton resident Miguel Ajpop-Diaz, 36, was also swimming near Gatewood Park when he went under and never resurfaced.
In June, fisherman discovered the body of 7-year-old Kamiare Wash of East Point near the Interstate 75 overpass. The girls' father and his girlfriend, Michael Deon Wash and Lasherae Davis, have been charged with concealing the child's death.
