22 DUIs Over New Year's, Heavy Patrols Continue: Forsyth Police

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office made 22 DUI arrests over New Year's weekend and increased patrols will continue.

CUMMING, GA – The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office made 22 DUI arrests over New Year's weekend and 63 in month of December. Increased DUI patrols will remain, according to a Sheriff's Office Facebook post.

"The holidays have come to an end and with that we have our DUI totals for New Year’s weekend and the month of December," reads the post. "From Friday through New Year’s Monday we had TWENTY-TWO DUI arrests. This brought our total for the month of December to a whopping SIXTY-THREE DUI arrests! Our Deputies worked hard and did a great job catching these folks that chose to drink and drive despite the Sheriff’s numerous warnings.

"The increased DUI patrols will remain as we continue our effort to rid Forsyth streets of drunk drivers, as safety is our number one priority," continues the post. "So, remember if you choose to drink and drive in Forsyth County you will go to jail. It’s simple- if you drink, DO NOT drive."
