Halcyon Begins Inaugural Holiday Celebration Events Saturday

CUMMING, GA — Halcyon announced its Holiday Celebration Events lineup with special experiences during the month of December. Featuring events for everyone in the family, Halcyon invites community members to ring in the holiday season at the newly opened mixed-use development. Beginning Saturday with Santa’s arrival at Halcyon, Forsyth County’s celebration hot spot will bring holiday cheer and special guests to complement the buzz surrounding its restaurants and retailers.

“At Halcyon, we understand how busy everyone is during the holidays, and our December event calendar is meant to offer community members a chance to get away from the craziness and enjoy time with their families and friends,” said Susan Grunwald, marketing director for Halcyon. “Whether you’re coming to enjoy a work or family holiday dinner, grab hot chocolate from Kilwins or take part in our events with Santa Claus, we are excited to welcome visitors on-site during this joyous month of merriment.”

A full list of holiday events is below:

• Halcyon Holiday Celebration and Santa Arrival: From 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Halcyon kicks off its season with Santa Claus. Arriving in style in a Mercedes Benz from RBM of Alpharetta, Santa will be available for photos and wish lists from all the good boys and girls. Halcyon’s vintage photo camper and crafts with Pine and Pigment will also be available, along with hot chocolate, cookie decorating, face painting, special “Frozen” musical performances by Stipe Studio, Christmas carols and more all afternoon.
• Ladies Night Out – Making Spirits Bright: On Dec. 12 from 6 to 9 p.m., Halcyon hosts a special Ladies Night Out featuring an opportunity for participants to browse Halcyon retailers and create holiday wish lists for a chance to win a grand prize $250 shopping spree at Apricot Lane. Sample Christmas treats and make a holiday craft with Pine and Pigment, shop for gifts and enjoy Christmas cocktails from Halcyon restaurants. Santa will be there for photos, too, along with Halcyon’s vintage photo camper.
• Holiday Open House: Dec. 14 marks the Halcyon Holiday Open House with specials and refreshments at Halcyon’s retailers. Ace Suggs will also be performing a Christmas concert from noon to 3 p.m. in the Village Green. Bring the family for crafts.
• Santa Paws Event benefiting Fur Kids: On Dec. 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the dogs can get in on the holiday fun. For a $10 donation to Fur Kids Animal Rescue and Shelters, guests can have their dog’s photo taken with Santa in Halcyon’s vintage photo camper. After the photos, free Puppicinos from Cherry Street Brewpub will be available, as well a holiday gift for the pups and more.
• Halcyon’s Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl: On Dec. 18 from 6 to 9 p.m., it’s time to pull out those ugly sweaters and enjoy special holiday cocktails from Halcyon’s restaurants. For a $5 donation to The Giving Kitchen, participants will receive a wristband unlocking exclusive holiday spirits. The Grinch, a big fan of ugly sweaters, will also be on-site to meet, mingle and judge the inaugural Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest. Three lucky winners will receive a generous gift card from Halcyon retailers.
• Sweet Treats with Santa: As the countdown to Christmas continues, on Dec. 20 from 1 to 4 p.m., guests can join Santa at Kilwins, Popbar and It’s a Sweet Life for treats and photos. Santa will visit It’s a Sweet Life from 1 to 2 p.m.; Kilwins from 2 to 3 p.m.; and Popbar from 3 to 4 p.m. Holiday music and kids’ crafts will also be available in the Market Hall.
• Christmas Concert and Brunch with Santa: Make reservations now for brunch with Santa at Cherry Street Brewpub on Dec. 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Following the brunch, Ace Suggs’ final Christmas Concert will be live in the Market Hall.
• Hanukkah at Halcyon: On Dec. 22 at 5 p.m., the entire community is invited to join Chabad of Forsyth, along with local city and county officials, as Halcyon lights the first candle on the menorah and celebrates the first night of Hanukkah as a community. Enjoy latkes, donuts, coffee, kids’ entertainment, singing and more.
