Press Release: Post Oak Glen by Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods Debuts Two Model Homes in Cumming

Award-winning Builder Opens the Doors to a Dynamic Duo of Professionally Merchandised Homes by Award-Winning Designers

Atlanta, September 28, 2015 – Earlier this month, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods debuted not just one, but two exquisitely decorated model homes in Post Oak Glen in Cumming – each one professionally merchandised by award-winning designers. The first was rendered by Tracy Cook of Design Etc, while the second showcases the talents of Angela Cain of Angela Cain Interiors. Both designers have yielded awards on behalf of Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods in the past for their unique and inspired designs. The homebuilder believes these two homes in Acadia’s newest Forsyth County community may be among their best work to date.

“Tracy and Angela can both immediately grasp our target audience for any given community and come up with two very different, but equally spectacular ways to wow our guests,” said Sam Bass, VP of Sales & Marketing for Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods. “There’s always an undeniable sense of luxury blended with an irrefutable feeling of welcome in their designs – just rendered in very different manners. I’m not a betting man, but if I was – I would say both homes are contenders for future awards. Of course, most importantly, I know they will resonate with homebuyers, inspiring them to consider Post Oak Glen as their future home.”

Situated at the Northwestern edge of Cumming – just beyond the polo fields, Post Oak Glen is poised on 40 scenic acres of rolling hills, wooded glens and tranquil ponds. Upon completion, this sprawling neighborhood will be representative of 96 beautifully appointed 2200-3200 square foot ranch and master on main floorplans – priced from the low $300,000’s. The community will also boast stunning landscaping and resort-quality amenities that will include an expansive clubhouse and pool. Residents will enjoy close proximity to the hiking trails, picnic pavilions, and natural splendor of the 963-acre Sawnee Mountain Preserve, as well as horseshoe pits and open fields of Ducktown Park, a number of local streams and reservoirs for fishing excursions; and the shimmering waters of Lake Sidney Lanier for boating and water sports. For adventurers of an entirely different sort, 140 distinctive shops at the North Georgia Premium Outlets beckon. Easy access to GA-400 makes commutes into Downtown Atlanta a relative breeze.

As for the recently debuted model homes, Tracy Cook’s assignment was to merchandise the 4BD/3.5BA Sinclair floor plan. The home boasts over 3100 square feet of ranch-based living space showcasing loads of hardwood flooring, marble Island & backsplash in the kitchen, a gorgeous covered rear deck, and numerous other upgrades. The interior features an E-Z flow open concept floor plan & reveals much more than meets the eye from the street, with an awesome upper level consisting of a loft, bedroom, bonus storage and full bath.

“The design (of the first model home) is very light and airy, fresh and clean, crisp but comfy,” said Cook. “There are lots of natural elements used throughout, contrasted against luxury hallmarks such as beautiful woodwork, trey ceilings and stunning light fixtures. Soaring ceilings paired with light walls evoke a sense of spaciousness. Neutral beiges, pale grays and shades of white are offset by charming pops of periwinkle blue. As a subtle suggestion of ‘home,’ I gained inspiration from the most natural example I could think of – a bird’s nest. When guests tour the home, they’ll find small hints of this – from tasteful bird prints on the walls to floral arrangements that have the look and feel of an actual nest.”

Angela Cain’s task was to merchandise all 2398 square feet of the 3 BD/3BA Burton floor plan. She chose to appeal mainly to an empty nester buyer with a serene overall color scheme that comprises shades of royal blue and navy, alongside taupes, grays and lime green. Rather than utilize the optional bedroom at the front of the home as such, Cain merchandised it as a home office furnished with industrial styled furniture pieces for a clean, fresh and casual look. In the living area, she elected to accentuate the fireplace wall and the vaulted ceiling by painting the wall navy blue and the mantle a medium gray. She then flanked the fireplace with a pair of unique bleached wood and mirror bookcases.

“I REALLY love the look of that bleached wood contrasted against the navy accent wall,” said Cain. “Opposite that the open kitchen and dining rooms are bright and airy, just waiting for the future homeowners to enjoy a quiet evening at home entertaining family and friends. The master suite is truly a luxury suite – so relaxing and peaceful with cool and crisp blue and white color scheme throughout the bedroom, bath and large sitting area. I specified all interior doors to be painted a dark gray while the trim remained white for a very dramatic look. The upstairs loft area is a great get-away media area with an extra bedroom and full bath. It’s the ideal space for a sprawling guest quarters or a hang-out for a college-age child who might be home for the holidays. The color scheme of the adjoining guest bedroom and bath are black, white and gray with a ‘pop’ of lime green... so fresh and fun.“
