State Patrol in Cumming Welcomes New Trooper

Aaron DeGourville is a U.S. Navy veteran who serves in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

CUMMING, GA -- A new trooper has joined the Georgia State Patrol post in Cumming.

Trooper Aaron DeGourville (badge #417) began his work with the Georgia Department of Public Safety in July 2014.

He started as a trooper cadet at Department of Public Safety headquarters in Atlanta.

In August 2015, he attended the 97th Georgia State Patrol trooper school, where he served as class chaplain.

Upon graduation in March 2016, DeGourville was assigned to Post 37 in Cumming.

DeGourville is a U.S. Navy veteran and currently serves in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

A native of southern California, he has lived in Georgia for the past eight years and says he always wanted to become a state trooper.

He currently lives in Cherokee County with his wife and two sons.
