Woman Who Helped Man Escape Jail Work Detail Arrested
Margaret Cheryl Broome has been charged with helping Koby Blanchard escape from custody outside Cumming police headquarters on Friday.

A woman has been arrested in connection with the escape of a man from a jail work detail outside Cumming police headquarters on Friday.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriffβs Office, Margaret Cheryl Broome has been charged with aiding escape, hindering apprehension, and possession of controlled substances. Broome, 57, remains in custody at the Forsyth County Jail as of Saturday afternoon.
Koby Blanchard was part of a detail at the Cumming Police Departmentβs headquarters on Friday when he walked away from the detail and escaped. Police notified the Sheriffβs Office, which is now taking over the search for the escaped prisoner.

Blanchard has been charged with burglary, arson, and theft in the past, says the Sheriffβs Office.Β Authorities do not believe that Blanchard is armed or that he is a danger to the general public at this time.
