11th Annual Lamar Hunton Memorial Motorcycle Ride Getting Ready to Roll

Paulding County Sheriff Gary Gulledge is hosting the 11th Annual Lamar Hunton Memorial Motorcycle Ride to benefit the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association Youth Homes on September 13.

The cost is $35 per bike and $15 per rider. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Paulding County Senior/Community Center, located at 54 Industrial Way North Dallas, GA 30132.

The ride will leave at 10 a.m. and end at the Pineland Youth Home in LaGrange, GA.

There will be a full escort by a Sheriff’s patrol car, lunch, door prizes, raffles for a Glock pistol, and a 50/50 cash drawing. Alo, there will be T-shirts for all pre-registered riders.

The ride is in memory of Major Lamar Hunton, who founded the event in 2004. Major Hunton was the Jail Administrator for the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. He passed away on October 21, 2004, only days before the first ride took place.

The purpose of the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association Youth Homes is to provide the best possible full-time residential care for the dependent, neglected, abandoned, and abused children of Georgia.

These homes are not reform schools or correctional institutions. They are warm, caring, and secure places for children to live. The Youth Homes provide a secure future for Georgia’s needy and worthy children. They also give them love, guidance, discipline, and all the advantages that every child deserves.

The five campuses urgently need funding. The Georgia Sheriffs’ Association Youth Homes, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt childcare agency. Your donation is not only tax-deductible, but will help us give Georgia’s needy and worthy children a chance to have a normal and memorable childhood.
