Barr: ‘No Decision Made’ on Congressional Run

The Daily Caller has confirmed that former Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr is considering an attempt to return to Congress by vying for the seat held by U.S. Rep. Tom Graves. Barr is set to speak in Paulding this weekend.

U.S. Rep. Tom Graves, R-Ranger, hasn’t been Paulding County’s representative for very long, but already several well-known names have made it known that they’re considering challenging Graves for his congressional seat next year.

Jerry Shearin, former chairman of the Paulding County Board of Commissioners, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution last month that he was considering challenging Graves.

Earlier this month, the AJC reported that it was believed former state congressman and Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr was considering challenging the Republican Graves. On Monday, The Daily Caller reported that that was indeed the case, with Barr saying that some of his supporters were pushing him for a congressional run next year. He added that due to the recent redistricting, the state’s new 14th District, which contains Paulding, was part of his old 7th District when he served in Congress.

But Barr told The Daily Caller that he had not yet made a decision on such a run.

Barr could address the topic this weekend as he speaks to those who could potentially vote for him next year. He is set to visit Dallas on Saturday to be the guest speaker for .
