Farm Food and Other Fare—Fun For the Whole Family!

Local farmers markets are the backbone of the community, and they need your support!

Summer is here, and one of the coolest things to experience is a trip to your local farmer’s market. Summer is the time of year when local farmers are bringing fresh produce like summer squash, beans, peas, greens, potatoes, onions, garlic, and of course those market staples like corn, okra, melons and tomatoes, apples and lots of fresh peaches!

The Paulding County Farm Bureau sponsors a biweekly farmer’s market held every Tuesday from May 29 through Tuesday, July 31, and every Friday from April through Nov. 30.

In addition to farm produce, the PCFB Farmers Market has vendors who sell farm-fresh eggs, meat, milk, cheese, preserves, pickles, baked goods, sweets, dehydrated foods, crafts and lots of other great locally produced items including small livestock.

With the kids out of school, how about bringing the entire family to your local market and let them meet the farmers and other vendors, and teach them about where their food really comes from!

The PCFB Farmers Market is located at 2515 Marietta Hwy., Dallas. This is the empty lot at the intersection of Highways 92 and 120, across from Stars and Strikes. For more information, contact the market manager at 678-429-8862 or visit pauldingfarmers.blogspot.com.
