According to Steve Palm of Smart Numbers LLC, it's "not economically feasible" to build new homes in outlying counties when they are competing against deeply discounted foreclosures and distressed sales closer in to the city.

Well, duh.
There are at least three long-term For Sale houses in my own neighborhood, and those are just the ones on my morning walking route. I know of a few more that were auctioned, foreclosed on, and sold on short sale.

Now, compare my large, recently constructed subdivision to what I see on my drive to the post office: one newly constructed house sitting all by its lonesome on a weedy street. And on another route, two houses sit side by side, the first ones built in an ambitious bid for a new subdivision. Now they are lonely together.

We may not have interstate access, but by golly, . There is an industrial park being planned. Two colleges— and —call Paulding County home. We had in downtown Dallas back in February.
And that's just what I see.... Bet there's more.
I'm not the biggest cheerleader of everything our and and utilities companies and state representatives do. But I will say this:
Here in Paulding County, we do NOT live in the “Ring of Death.”
