Charming, Historic Dining in Acworth

Elegant atmosphere, friendly service and superior food make Dogwood Terrace more than just a renovated 1947 house.

Located on Main Street in downtown Acworth, Dogwood Terrace offers late breakfast, delicious lunches and savory dinner specials. Initially a catering and special events business, Dogwood Terrace has expanded to offer fresh ingredients, delectable entrees and culinary delights not typically offered in a rural town. Just 10 minutes from the Paulding/Cobb County line, Chef Steve Moughalian can provide a three course meal you will forever remember.

Chef Steve has constructed a menu that makes your mouth water when only reading the menu ... ”four jumbo shrimp stuffed with crab meat; wrapped in prosciutto, baked in the oven and topped with a lemon caper butter sauce,” or “all-natural beef short ribs, lightly sweet; slightly peppery, Zinfandel slow-cooked, melts in your mouth, served with cheddar mashed potatoes and veggie of the day.”

For lunch, patrons can try the crisp ciabatta roll Panini, with thinly sliced ham, salami, provolone cheese, tomato and the best basil pesto sauce. The southern fried chicken sandwich is beyond what any home cook could create—tender, moist with a light buttermilk crust that simply is too good to be true. Among the simple but majestic deserts are carrot cake, cheesecake, Crème Brule and a vanilla ice cream, chocolate covered walnut brownie that is a piece of culinary heaven.

Whereas Chef Steve has composed a symphonic menu, owner Darlene Knight hired the best renovation team to create a comfortable, custom restaurant. The oak wood beams, cozy double-sided fireplace, imported Turkish Travertine floor and cathedral ceilings provide a luxurious dinning room. The staff is courteous and prompt. Most importantly, the food has made an indelible impression upon me.  Although main entrees are $15 - $25, the attention to detail on the plate makes the palate appreciate every savory bite at Dogwood Terrace.
