Craig Stevens Holds On To Win the 93rd Yamaha Atlanta Open
Paulding resident Craig Stevens finished at 13-under to capture prestigious tournament at the Frog Golf Course Tuesday.
The Yamaha Atlanta Open is the oldest golf tournament in the state and Paulding resident Craig Stevens got off to a hot start on Monday with a round of 63, and followed with a closing round of 68 Tuesday to win by one shot at 13-under.
Stevens is a teaching professional at Steel Canyon Golf Course and had won numerous Georgia PGA events prior to the tournament win at The Frog Golf Club in Villa Rica. With the first-place finish, Stevens took home a check for $4,600.
Josh Adams, who is on the staff at The Frog, finished at 6-under and was fifth among club professionals.

The golf course was hit hard by a storm on Saturday, resulting in many downed trees and debris covering most fairways and greens.
The Georgia Section PGA gave special thanks to the head pro, Brandy Jones, his staff and other Canongate staff for their tremendous efforts in getting the course in good playing condition for the tournament.
