Each year, more than 200 Ronald McDonald Motivational Programs are scheduled by primary and elementary schools throughout the 48-county Greater Atlanta area. A Friendship Adventure with Ronald McDonald” is a comprehensive program that focuses on how to discourage bullying and on the importance of friendship, cooperation, individual responsibility and active play of the mind and body. It includes music, magic, lots of audience participation and a timely message for students and teachers alike. Endorsed by child and parenting expert Dr. Michele Borba, this program is a continuation of McDonald’s commitment to kids’ overall health.
With more than 160,000 children skipping school each day due to bullying and peer pressure, “Friendship Adventure” was created to reinforce Ronald’s position as a friend who is concerned about their well-being and to offer children simple and effective ways in which to discourage negative behavior toward themselves and others. Shown is student Zaria Thompson with her teacher, Mrs. Donna Costello, participating in the program.
