WASHINGTON — Dallas Mayor Boyd Austin Jr., was among mayors from the across the country who to met with President Donald Trump at the White House Wednesday afternoon.
"It was awesome," Austin told Patch. "I'm very proud of President Trump and his administration for the great things he is doing for the country. It was an opportunity to see how this administration is cutting red tape, streamlining permitting, and growing the economy, in preparation for a major push on infrastructure—$1 trillion."
Austin was among roughly 100 mayors in the East Room at an event billed as a discussion about the economy, in addition to working with the mayors on the opioid crisis and rebuilding the nation’s crumbling infrastructure, according to the White House.
