Stover Named Citizen of the Year

Brian Stover probably didn’t expect to receive cheers and hoots during Thursday’s annual dinner event of the , but he earned such a reception after it was announced that he had been named the Chamber’s Citizen of the Year for 2011.

“‘[Stover] supports not only numerous charitable organizations, but also helps families in need in our community in a quiet and unassuming manner,’” said Jim Ashworth, the Chamber’s outgoing chairman, reading from one nomination form prior to the announcement that Stover had won the award. “Another nomination submitted said, ‘He likes to help people that need help just because he thinks it’s the right thing to do.’”

Stover is involved in Paulding County Rotary, Family Alliance of Paulding, McKenna Farms and several other organizations around the community.
