Dump Truck Knocks Out Power Poles In North Paulding

Homes, businesses and a school were without power Friday after a dump truck downed power poles, power lines and other utility lines.

DALLAS, GA — Power was knocked out and traffic was backed up for hours Friday after a dump truck took down several power poles and other utilities in north Paulding County.

The crash happened in the area of Ga. 92 and Cedarcrest Road, according to the Paulding County Sheriff's Office. Multiple homes, several business and Russom Elementary School were all without power Friday morning due to the crash.

Motorists were being urged to stay out of the area as emergency crews worked to repair the damage.

In addition to knocking over power poles, the dump truck puled down power lines and other utility lines, authorities said.

At about 1:50 p.m., the sheriff's office announced that the area was cleared and traffic was flowing again.
