Burnt Hickory Signage Ceremony

The Burnt Hickory Community signs will be unveiled. Recently, the Georgia Department of Transportation agreed that Burnt Hickory met the requirements for community designation with highway signage. Established by submitting maps, historical references and photographs of community landmarks, the application process for the signs involved the efforts of many community residents, former Post 4 Commissioner Wayne Kirby and State Rep. Howard Maxwell.

After a brief ceremony at the Burnt Hickory Park Community Park to present the signs to the residents of the Burnt Hickory Community, the signs will be installed along Highway 61 north of Pumpkinvine Creek (O.N. Black Bridge) and south of the Bartow County line.
