Flag Retirement Ceremony Commemorating the 10th Anniversary of 9/11

A Flag Retirement ceremony is a very solemn and reverent event in which our American Flag(s) that are torn, tattered and worn beyond use are "retired" via incineration by fire. Only two organizations are allowed by Congress to retire American Flags - the U.S. Military and the Boy Scouts of America.

The Boys Scouts of Hiram will properly retire several U.S. Flags in a Flag Retirement Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the City of Hiram's Ben Hill Strickland Sr. Memorial Park. Everyone is welcome to attend this ceremony during which tribute also will be paid to today's 10th Anniversary of 9/11.
