Foundation’s 5K ‘Fiesta Run’ Draws 600-plus Entrants

On May 5, “Cinco De Mayo,” the Paulding Education Foundation hosted its inaugural “Fiesta Run” fundraiser to benefit the schools of Paulding County. More than 600 runners and walkers came out to downtown Dallas to participate in the 5K run and 1K kid run, a news release from the foundation stated.

The overall winner in the male category was 42-year-old Richard Sharper with a time of 17:59. In the female category, 34-year-old Tamieka Grizzle-Mart won with a time of 21:01. Paulding County Commission David Austin, took first place in the 60-and-over category.

The non-profit Paulding Education Foundation was founded and incorporated in 2006. Its aim is to promote excellence in education in the Paulding County School District.
