Freebies for Customers on Grand Opening Weekend

, but come Friday, the grand opening of Academy Sports + Outdoors of Hiram will be under way.

The three-day celebration for the store on Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway begins Friday morning. According to a news release from the company, the first 100 customers (18 years of age or older) lined up at the door when the store opens at 8 a.m. will each receive a free pair of Crocs shoes valued up to $49.99. Customers will also have the chance to enter a drawing to win a George Strait autographed guitar.

Another giveaway is set for 8 a.m. Saturday, when the first 50 adult customers will receive a free pair of men’s Wrangler jeans (valued up to $34.99). Customers also will have the chance to register to win a Wrangler of a different sort—a new Jeep Wrangler.

Other events happening Saturday include a chance to test one’s golf skills with the Callaway Driving Contest, while free autographs and demonstrations from professional bass angler Darren Gallaher will be offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The store on Sunday will see former Atlanta Brave Brian Jordan signing free autographs for fans from 1 to 2 p.m. Free hot dogs and water will be given out to customers starting at noon while supplies last, while a chance to register for a “His and Hers” Huffy bike package and a $500 Academy Sports + Outdoors gift card will be offered throughout the day. And kids will be able to fish for free in the store’s Shakespeare catfish catch tank.
