U.S. Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14), author of the Defund Obamacare Act (H.R. 2682), issued the following reaction to President Obama’s speech about the economy:
“The president’s speeches haven’t changed, and neither has the economy. We need a policy change, starting with removing the biggest roadblock to quality jobs—Obamacare.
“My Defund Obamacare Act will empower those who have fallen on hard times with the opportunity to work. By putting a stop to all the government-imposed confusion and fines, we can lift people out of joblessness and help them find a good, full-time job.

“The opposition to Obamacare is not just from conservative voices, as the president suggests. Unions are upset about the law’s impact on pay and benefits. Thousands of people in the blue state of California are being dropped from their health insurance. The president himself delayed Obamacare’s rules for businesses, and in doing so, admitted that the law is bad for jobs.
“It’s time to give individuals and families the same break. Let’s defund Obamacare now so those who are hurting and have struggled for five years have a better shot at finding a job and can once again chase the American dream.”
