Hiram City Manager Receives Credentialed Manager Designation

Robert T. Rokovitz, City Manager of Hiram, recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from ICMA, the International City/County Management Association. Rokovitz is one of more than 1,200 local government management professionals currently credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.
ICMA’s mission is to create excellence in local governance by promoting professional management worldwide and increasing the proficiency of appointed chief administrative officers, assistant administrators, and other employees who serve local governments and regional entities around the world. The organization’s nearly 9,000 members in 27 countries also include educators, students, and other local government employees.
To receive the prestigious ICMA credential, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; have earned a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.

“One of the significant components the City Council considered when seeking and appointing our very first city manager for the City of Hiram was the degree of experience in municipal governance,” commented Mayor Doris Devey. “While we knew Mr. Rokovitz would bring many professional attributes coupled with extensive experience to our City, we are even more pleased to know our City can boast of having an ICMA Credentialed Manager,” Mayor Devey continued.
Rokovitz is qualified by 13 years of professional local government executive experience. Additionally, he earned his MPA in Government Administration and his B.S. in Public and Social Services from Kennesaw State University. Prior to his appointment in Hiram as city manager, he served as city manager in two other Georgia cities, Cedartown and Holly Springs, and as the Assistant City Administrator of Alpharetta, Georgia.
