Hiram City Manager Resigning After Seven Months
Barry Atkinson cited conflicts with city council and layoffs of city workers.

HIRAM, GA — Hiram's city manager has resigned after only seven months on the job, citing differences with the city council.
Barry Atkinson cited several reasons Friday for his departure, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
They included the city council's layoff of "seven very capable and well-trained employees" which lead to "an air of uncertainty for the remaining employees" and "significant staffing reductions," the AJC reported.
