Pannell, 65, of Hiram died in the accident shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday on Macland Road near Lost Mountain Road in Powder Springs.<ul><li>RELATED: <a href="https://patch.com/georgia/dallas-hiram/police-fire">Police &amp; Fire posts on Patch</a></li></ul>Pannell was reportedly driving a silver 2007 Ford Mercury Grand Marquis eastbound on Macland when the car left the roadway and struck a small tree and a light pole. Pannell was pronounced dead on arrival at WellStar South Cobb Hospital, police said."At this time, investigators believe that the driver may have suffered a medical condition which caused him to lose control of the automobile," Cobb police said in a statement.Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
