Extra security was on hand after an anonymous bomb threat was written in a bathroom of the school on Tuesday.

DALLAS, GA — The school day was proceeding with extra security on hand Wednesday after an anonymous bomb threat was found at South Paulding High School.
School officials found the threat written in a boys' restroom on Tuesday afternoon. According to a letter sent to parents, the threat said the school would "go boom" the following day.
Within minutes of the threat being reported, school administrators began investigating, in coordination with the district office and Paulding County Sheriff's Office. The response included an extensive sweep of the campus.

"We take any threat to student safety seriously ... ," the letter said. "We will be in constant communication with our District Office and the appropriate authorities to make sure your children and our staff members are safe."
A nearly identical letter was sent parents at Dugan Elementary, which is next door to South Paulding High, although there was no mention of that school in the threat.
