ICYMI: Tornado Touchdown Reports In Paulding Were False, Officials Say
Dallas and Hiram were under a tornado warning through about 11:30 a.m. on Monday.

DALLAS, GA — Reports of two tornadoes touching down in Paulding County on Monday morning were false, authorities say.
The reports, which made their way onto social media, may have been pranks.
"Everything that was reported about tornadoes touching down is not true," said Paulding County Sheriff's office Sgt. Ashley Henson early Monday afternoon.

Severe thunderstorms that swept through much of north Georgia looked particularly threatening in Paulding and Carroll counties, where conditions were right for twisters.
According to the National Weather Service, the squall line, which was capable of producing tornadoes and extensive straight-line wind damage, was located near Dallas at 11:10 a.m. and moving east at 50 mph.

The NWS said flying debris could be dangerous to those caught without shelter, and mobile homes could be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles was expected to occur, the service said and tree damage was likely.
In Paulding County, authorities investigated two locations where twisters were reported but didn't find any corresponding damage.
